Do read this. About Correspondence Correspondence isn't what it used to be. The language used nowadays is disgraceful. One should always attempt to write beautiful letters, as I am of the opinion that one should always have a noble purpose in life, however fickle it may be. Today, I have written a beautiful letter, and, as I have planned to make it my purpose to educate my unlearned masses in the delicate art that is letter-writing, will share it with you, and hope you may all be thus enlightened. A beautiful letter is as such: Most Beloved, The excellent news of your procurement of a substitute warms my heart greatly. Indeed, no girl should be without some form of amusement and pleasure wherever she may be. The charming coincidence in names is no doubt a happy sign that this new "XXX" is meant to play a significant role in your life until the time comes for you to claim "Dr. X" as your consort, and I can only say that I am truly happy for you. In the meanwhile, I will endeavour, to the best of my abilities, to watch over your betrothed, that he may improve in disposition, character, appearance and, most importantly, financial situation. Until the pleasure of your correspondence may be graced upon me again. With Fondest Blessings, Your Beloved Friend Forever. It is my desire that all of you who have had the opportunity of reading my lovely epistle should profit from it and thus become a better people. N.B. I have of course, written a general letter which is addressed to no-one important in particular. In fact, the person to whom the above letter is addressed, may be no more than a figment of a bad imagination. hpdeskjette stamped at 7:10 AM with love + + + About Clever Things I've Said Today X: So how many guys have been going after you? Me: None... none... I am tragically unpursued. X: Have you considered the fact that that could because you're in the ugly group? Me: No, not really. I don't have much imagination. Q: tok to u soon la byebye Me: I'll see you on Saturday... relax.. Q: =( Me: yeah yeah... i know it's quite far away.... but.... Q: but... yeah well... Me: there there.... there is nothing wrong with loving me. I hear it is quite a natural reaction. hpdeskjette stamped at 8:42 AM with love + + + About Law School Law school sucks. They give you far too much homework for good. This weekend I have been reading non-stop. And I had a homework assignment. I barely get to watch any TV. I had to skip Church to finish my reading material. The last time I mugged like this was for the prelims. Even the "A"s were more relaxing. This is ridiculous. Oh well. At least I'm not in Med school. I hear they have six-day weeks and class from 8-5. Poor darlings! Oh dear. hpdeskjette stamped at 8:51 AM with love + + + About Exhaustion It has been a long week. I am exhausted. Too tired to give a proper write-up of the weeks events, so I'll write notes instead. Monday: National Day and, more importantly to me, Mahjong Day with Ali, Fluffy-Puff-who's-going-to-get-married and mean, nasty Made-me-a-puny-pillow-Qing Jia. It was fun. I was a great and gracious host, and provided them with many snacks, one of which the First Choice Sunset Supreme Ice Cream, which is excellent!! I highly recommend it to everyone. What's more, it's 95% fat-free!! It was a dress-up Mahjong Party, and the theme of that day was National Colours-we were to dress in red tops and white bottoms as a sign of patriotism. There were prizes to be won by the Best-Dressed-to-Theme and Earliest-to-Arrive. Ali won both prizes, coming in a red top and off-white bottom (see her blog) and being the nearest to being punctual. Only she forgot to take her prizes home. Oh well. Qing Jia was a disgrace, coming in merely a red-and-white shirt and skin-coloured shorts (which made her look undressed below her shirt! The scandalous girl!!) Fluffy was even worse. She had the cheek to wear a red T-shirt with Mickey Mouse and Friends!! Oh well, at least she acted her true maturity level. I was naturally the best-dressed, being in a red National Day T-shirt (the one from Hang Ten) and snow white walking shorts, but no good host wins her own prize, so that couldn't be helped. Mahjong was good, though I had to lock up the phones of Ali and Fluffy-puff who were so distracted by... sms-es by their... amants... The food was good. The company could have been better though, though my guests clearly enjoyed the best. Ali won. I followed. Fluffy was broke and Qing Jia was bankrupt (see what happens to stingy people who stint on pillows!!). Then we watched Singapore Idol and Qing Jia had to leave. Oh yeah, my OG leader's in S'pore Idol. He was the one in the pink T-shirt whose favourite colour is pink. As long as he's happy. Tuesday: First day of school. HAD HOMEWORK!!! What a bad faculty I'm in. Who gives work on Day One!!! Wednesday: Final Lunch with the Mahjong three (Fish and Co. at Jurong Point). It's now the Mahjong two and I. Sigh. Travelled all the way and tramped around Chinatown to get SOMEONE a PRESENT, though I felt ill and sniffled and sneezed all the way. Got one. It was be-yoo-ti-ful! Oh and I brought Porkcube (an old gift to SOMEONE, basically a square pillow with the Winnie-the-Pooh Piglet's face and ears on it) home. His real name is Pork-cube-pine. Ha! Thursday: Sent SOMEONE away. SOMEONE didn't appreciate PRESENT though. It got left behind. *Sniff* Nasty SOMEONE. At least SOMEONE brought Jeremike along. Must show you Jeremike one day. He is so adorable and good to hug. Damn it. This means that we must all hope SOMEONE will return soon. And we've only just sent SOMEONE away. hpdeskjette stamped at 8:01 AM with love + + + About Amazing People People are amazing. Everytime I tell them about my hunt-a-husband-from-specific-professions scheme, they either look shocked, which is vulgar, or laugh, which is worse. I call that a deplorable lack of moral fibre! Surely if we spend painstaking efforts on trivialities such as deciding what to wear and what house to buy so on and forth, we certainly must spend equal, if not more, effort planning something as important as your lifelong comfort and well-being!! People are so irresponsible. That aside, in case anyone wants to know, orientation was alright. A bit boring, but we live in an imperfect world. The only major problem was that we saw so little of med fac that it cannot have been healthy. hpdeskjette stamped at 8:19 AM with love + + + About Depression Today I woke up feeling depressed. Perhaps it was because I am no longer accustomed waking at the early hour of 730, or perhaps it was because waking meant the beginning of the end of the life I have loved so deeply in the months that have passed. Or perhaps it was the reason that political correctness cannot permit me to post publicly... Whatever it is I have been depressed since. Only eating Waffle Crisp perked me up a little. Sugar is a great anti-depressant. Just to say to all my dear friends and acquaintances and classmates... You have no idea how I miss you all!!! How I longed to see you!! Oh to turn back the hands of time that I may be with you all again! hpdeskjette stamped at 8:17 AM with love + + + |
